Bluewaters: the walkable one
Bluewaters is Meraas's island off Jumeirah Beach Residence, small enough to cross on foot. It suits a couple, a downsizer or a second-home buyer who wants to walk to dinner and the beach. It doesn't suit a family that needs a school nearby: Meraas lists none on the island.
Daily life is compact. One ring of mid-rise apartment buildings, with penthouses and townhouses, sits above a promenade of shops and restaurants. Madame Tussauds Dubai and Banyan Tree Dubai are here too. Meraas lists gyms, pools, basketball courts and play areas for residents, and Ain Dubai, the 250 m observation wheel, stands on the island.
Supply is fixed by the island's size. Meraas lists its two schemes, Bluewaters Residences and Bluewaters Bay, as sold out, so buying here usually means resale. Know the wheel's record: Ain Dubai was shut from March 2022 to December 2024, and closed again in March 2026.
A road bridge links the island to Sheikh Zayed Road, and a 265 m footbridge crosses to The Beach at JBR. There is no metro or tram on the island; the nearest tram stops are at JBR. Meraas puts Dubai Marina 5 minutes away by car and Dubai International Airport 30.
