Dubai Silicon Oasis: the tech-park one

Dubai Silicon Oasis is a 7 km² technology free zone run under the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority, with homes built in. It suits families who want a school inside the community, and people who work in DSO or study at Academic City. It doesn't suit anyone who needs a metro today, or a beach.

Homes range from the Cedre and Semmer villa districts to apartment buildings. GEMS Wellington Academy teaches the British curriculum from nursery to post-16, and The Indian International School teaches CBSE. Rochester Institute of Technology has its Dubai campus here, and Silicon Central Mall is inside the community.

DSO counts more than 100,000 residents and entrepreneurs and more than 40,000 registered companies. Homes are still being added, including Ellington's The Hillgate beside Silicon Central Mall, which is off-plan. Check what else completes around the same time as the building you like, and what its service charges will be.

There is no metro yet. The RTA's Blue Line, due on 9 September 2029, will have a Dubai Silicon Oasis station and end at Academic City. Until then it is car, bus or taxi, and DSO is already covered by the RTA's Bus-On-Demand service.
