JLT: the live-and-work one
Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) is DMCC's district of 87 residential and commercial towers set around man-made lakes, on the inland side of Sheikh Zayed Road. It suits people who work in JLT or nearby and want the metro on foot. It suits families less well: KHDA lists 13 nurseries here but no school.
Offices and homes share the same towers. DMCC, the free zone that runs JLT, passed 26,000 member companies in 2025, and counts more than 470 cafés and restaurants in JLT. Paths run round the lakes between the clusters, and JLT Link, an electric community bus, connects the far corners.
Most homes for sale are resales in finished towers. New ones come from a few projects: Sobha's Verde, due in Q4 2026, and Ellington's UH and Mercer House, still being built. Towers differ in age, upkeep and service charges, so compare those before the view. Sobha Central, the new Sobha towers next door, has its own guide.
DMCC station on the Red Line sits inside JLT and connects to the tram at the Jumeirah Lakes Towers stop. On part of Lake D, DMCC and Sweid & Sweid are building BAY360, with a 22,000 sq ft Spinneys supermarket, due toward the end of 2027.
