The wider district beside Meydan that holds Sobha Hartland and District One. Two international schools are inside; the metro is due in 2032.
MBR City: the district of districts
Mohammed Bin Rashid City is a district of separate master plans south-east of Downtown, not one community. Sobha Hartland and Sobha Hartland II, District One, and Ellington's towers and villas all sit inside it. It suits a family that wants schools and new-build space near the centre. It doesn't suit anyone who wants to walk to a metro.
Sobha Hartland covers 8 million sq ft, and Sobha gives a third of it to nature and amenities, including a 22-hectare green belt. North London Collegiate School (IB) and Hartland International School (UK and IB) are both inside it. Sobha Hartland II, also 8 million sq ft, adds towers and villa plots around lagoons.
Of the projects Diamond follows here, most are Sobha apartment towers, from ones finished in 2022 to the four Skyvue towers, due between March 2029 and June 2030. Sobha Estates villas and Ellington's apartment buildings, villas and townhouses sit alongside. Several towers finish within a year or two of each other, so check what completes around yours, and whether a resale beats the developer's current list.
There is no metro in the district today. Business Bay station on the Red Line is about 10 minutes by car. The RTA's Gold Line, approved in April 2026, will cross MBR City and Meydan and is due to open on 9 September 2032. Until then, households here drive.

The Dubai Mall is about 12 minutes by car, DIFC and Business Bay about 15, and the airport 20.
The lagoons
Beaches without the sea
District One is built around a 7 km crystal lagoon with sand beaches, and Sobha Hartland II has lagoons too.
For families
Two schools inside the district
North London Collegiate School (IB) and Hartland International (UK and IB) are both in Sobha Hartland.
